Chris Hensley
I became involved in the Leadership Rice Program through the Summer Mentorship Experience, which has inspired me to turn my interest in science policy into a tangible plan of action. Throughout my internship at the National Science Foundation's Office of Legislative and Public Affairs in Washington D.C., I was able to observe the crucial interplay between the U.S. science research and development enterprise and public and legislative opinion.

Halle Rasmussen
Halle had a vision to educate and inspire healthy lifestyles for campus EMTs who work in a work environment susceptible to illness and stress. Halle observed that many EMTs have poor eating habits, lack adequate sleep and exercise and use alcohol and tobacco to relieve stress. Leadership Rice provided her an opportunity to change this within the Rice organization and the Envision Grant helped her launch the 'Be a Healthy EMT' program.
