Summer Mentorship Experience Application Process

Application deadline for 2009 SME has passed. The 2010 SME Application will be made available by early December. Please check back soon.

 
Applications are completed through OWL-Space.

Application Instructions

Use the following instructions to join the "Leadership Rice SME-2009" OWL-Space group.

1) Go to OWL-Space (https://owlspace-ccm.rice.edu)
2) Log in to OWL-Space by clicking "LOG-IN using NetID"
3) Click on the "Membership" tab in the left margin
4) Click on the "Joinable Sites" link near the top, next to the "My Current Sites" header.
5) Under the "Worksite" list, search for 'leadership' and click on "Leadership Rice: SME 2009" and click on the link "Join" located just below it.
6) You will now have a new tab at the top of your OWL-Space window, which you may access at any time.
7) The application is available through the "Test & Quizzes" on the left. You may save your progress at any point and return to it. Be sure to complete it before the deadline.

In order to complete the application, you will need to upload the following items:

1) Essay - Please explain why you are applying for the SME program and what makes you a good candidate, and also describe your ideal summer mentorship (1,000 words or less).
2) Resume
3) Unofficial transcript
4) ID-style photo

One letter of recommendation is required and must be completed using the following form:

Letters of recommendation are due by Friday, January 23 and should be sent directly to Leadership Rice by the recommender.
